Meet Our Medical Providers
Thomas Kang, MD

Dr. Kang has been double board-certified in otolaryngology as well as in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He graduated from Stanford University and received his medical degree from Temple University prior to completing residency back at Stanford and a fellowship at University of Missouri. He has been in practice and living in Tucson since 2005. His special interests include nasal airway obstruction, nasal allergy and sinus problems, as well as all general problems related to the ear, nose, and throat.

He has taken pride in being a co-founder of this growing ENT and audiology practice and witnessing its expansion and growth to serve the Tucson community.
​
His free time is spent golfing, SCUBA diving, and traveling with his family.

R. Jonathan Lara, DO, FAOCO

Dr. R. Jonathan Lara is a board-certified otolaryngologist dedicated to providing comprehensive care for disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. Dr. Lara completed his medical degree and residency at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He emphasizes thoughtful listening, patient education, and evidence-based treatment to ensure patients feel informed and confident in their care. Dr. Lara is committed to delivering modern, minimally invasive solutions whenever possible while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
Dr. Lara treats general ear, nose, and throat concerns that extend the spectrum from allergy and sinus disease, hearing and balance, and head and neck pathology. With a multitude of audiologists at Sonoran ENTA, he works closely with the audiology department to provide comprehensive hearing care, including evaluation and treatment of hearing and balance issues.

Dr. Lara has participated in professional education and physician outreach including medical lectures at national conventions for primary care providers, in addition to taking medical students under a preceptoring program.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lara enjoys spending time with his family, including 3 children. He enjoys golf, travel, and outdoor activities. He is passionate about supporting his local community, including being a charter member of a local nonprofit, Empower Coalition, a 501c3 that supports local veterans and their families.
Ramona Toy, FNP

Ramona is the first Family Nurse Practitioner to join our Sonoran ENTA family. She is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with clinical training in otolaryngology. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and her master's degree from the University of Phoenix. She has had many years of experience treating pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients with acute and chronic conditions related to the ears, nose, and throat. She believes in always providing excellent, compassionate care and establishing good relationships with her patients.

Outside of work, she enjoys her free time with her husband, two daughters, dogs, and other pets, often traveling or going on camping trips.
William Kluge, FNP

William Kluge is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with clinical training in otolaryngology, in addition to training and experience in urgent care, wound care, and primary care for medically complex patients. He received his initial nursing degree from Miami-Dade College, and has 25 years of experience as a registered nurse mainly in emergency and trauma nursing, both at the bedside and a nursing/prehospital educator. He earned his Master’s degree at the University of Phoenix and as a family nurse practitioner. William is qualified to care for patients across the lifespan, with an emphasis on providing high quality, patient-centered treatment of acute and chronic conditions of the ears, nose and throat.
Sarah Lim, FNP

Sarah is a Family Nurse Practitioner with clinical training in otolaryngology for both pediatric and adult patients. She has over ten years of nursing experience working as a bedside nurse as well as a surgical nurse for the local university’s otolaryngology and neurosurgery teams. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Arizona’s Second Degree Accelerated Nursing Program, with her first degree being in public health. She received her master’s degree from the University of Phoenix and is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Sarah believes in not only treating her patients like family members, but also by providing them with competent and professional care. Outside of work, Sarah has a husband, daughter, and son with whom she enjoys spending time with at home. She also loves soccer and plays on both a co-ed and women’s soccer team in her spare time.
Amanda Kester, AuD

Amanda is a certified audiologist and she also holds an Arizona Dispensing Audiology License. She was raised in Tucson, and graduated from the University of Arizona with her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. She then attended the University of Oklahoma where she earned her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.). Primarily working in a medical setting, Amanda has extensive experience in the evaluation and treatment of hearing loss, balance disorders, and vertigo. She has particular interest in advancements in hearing aid technology, and determining options for those with tinnitus. She has experience with cochlear implants and other implantable hearing devices.
Beth Benites, AuD

Beth is a certified audiologist and she is also a member of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (CCC-A) and holds an Arizona Dispensing Audiology License. She earned her undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Arizona and her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) at the University of North Texas. Beth has up to date knowledge and experience in hearing loss, tinnitus management, and balance disorder testing and therapy. She is also very experienced in hearing aid evaluations, including proper selection, fitting, and adjustments. In addition, she also has experience in mapping cochlear implants and other implantable hearing devices.
Jamie Landau, AuD

Jamie is a certified audiologist and has maintained an Arizona Dispensing Audiology License since 2010. Jamie is an Arizona native, graduating from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, and received her master’s degree from Cal State/Northridge. She attended A.T. Still University where she earned her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D) in 2008. Jamie trained at the prestigious House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles and has worked in the private practice sector since 2003. She has up-to-date knowledge and experience in hearing loss, tinnitus management, and balance disorder testing/therapy. She has extensive knowledge in hearing aid evaluations, including proper selection, fitting, and adjustments, as well as experience in implantable hearing devices.
Proud Mom to two children, Jamie enjoys time with family and friends, hiking, biking and gardening.
Stacey Trepanier, Au.D

Stacey Trepanier is a certified audiologist and a member of the American Auditory Society (AAS). She holds an Arizona Dispensing Audiology License. She earned both her undergraduate degree (Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences; Summa Cum Laude) and Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Arizona (Go CATS!). Stacey has specialized in hearing loss, tinnitus management, aural rehabilitation, and cochlear implants. She is very experienced in hearing aid evaluations, including proper selection, fitting, and adjustments.

When she’s not in the office serving patients, Stacey likes to spend time reading, running and hiking with her husband, a Tucson native. Her three children have kept her busy over the years attending their activities such as cress country, volleyball, and color guard.
Matt Mutterperl, Au.D

Matthew Mutterperl is a certified audiologist and holds an Arizona Dispensing Audiology License. He earned both his undergraduate degree (Linguistics & Psychology, Magna Cum Laude) and Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Arizona. Matt has a special interest in both hearing aids as well as vestibular audiology, which evaluates balance and dizziness from the inner ear. He is experienced in hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fittings, and vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation.

Out of the office, Matt likes to spend time traveling with his wife, playing music, and creating artwork as a freelance illustrator. He has been a guitarist for over 18 years, including 12 years spent as a touring musician across the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.
Emily Walker, Au.D

Emily Walker is a certified audiologist who is passionate about helping people hear and stay connected to the moments and relationships that matter most. She enjoys working with both adults and children at all stages of life and strives to provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
Emily earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Northern Colorado, and received her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Arizona. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is also a member of the American Academy of Audiology.
Emily brings a unique personal perspective to her work, as she has experienced hearing loss herself and has used hearing aids since before graduating from her undergraduate program. This firsthand experience allows her to better understand the concerns many patients have regarding hearing loss and hearing aid use, and she enjoys helping individuals navigate the transition to hearing technology with confidence.
Her clinical interests include comprehensive hearing evaluations, hearing aid consultations, hearing aid fittings and follow-up care, as well as cochlear implant candidacy evaluations, activations, and ongoing management.
In her free time, Emily enjoys reading, swing dancing, and spending time outdoors. She also loves spending time with her husband and their energetic dog and cat.
Danielle Robillard, Au.D

Danielle Robillard is a certified audiologist and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is also a member of the American Academy of Audiology. She is a Tucson native. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Arizona in 2018 and continued her education at the same institution, completing her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) in 2025. Danielle has particular clinical interests in hearing aids, vestibular assessment, and cochlear implants. She is dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based care to patients of all ages, helping them improve both communication and quality of life.
Outside of the clinic, Danielle enjoys spending quiet time at home with her fiancé and their five beloved animals. She also values quality time with friends and family, finding balance and joy in the relationships that matter most.
Jason Smith, Au.D

Jason Smith is a certified audiologist and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Wyoming and went on to complete his Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) at the University of Arizona. Dr. Smith has also completed Advanced Cochlear Implant Training through the Institute for Cochlear Implant Training. Dr. Smith’s clinical interests include cochlear implants, osseo-integrated implants, and hearing aid technology. He is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and works closely with patients of all ages to develop personalized treatment plans that improve communication and overall quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Smith enjoys sports, music, and spending time with family.
